Bob Nelson spoke in February 2007 in Springfield, Illinois at a seminar where he discussed recent changes regarding penalties in the worker’s compensation system.

On November 17, 2006, Dave Nelson spoke at a seminar presented by the Illinois State Bar Association.  His topic was the Opening Statement.   

In August 2006, Dave Nelson participated as co-counsel in a bench (non-jury) trial defending a small business owner and his employee who had been sued under the Illinois Trade Secret Act by another business.  The trial ended favorably for Dave’s client when the St. Clair County judge issued a ruling in favor of the defendant at the conclusion of the plaintiff’s presentation of the case.

In June 2006, Dave concluded a worker’s compensation claim under Illinois law against an employer based in Missouri.  The total settlement was approximately one quarter of a million dollars.  The employee still has a pending claim against the Missouri Second Injury Fund (because the employer is based in Missouri) for the same injury.
