Reed C. Nelson
Reed is an associate at Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C. In 2008 he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2013, Reed graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law where his studies focused on civil litigation, workers' compensation and civil rights under state and federal law. His practice focuses primarily on civil litigation and workers' compensation. Just a month into his practice, Reed co-counseled a week long jury trial resulting in a multi-million dollar verdict for his client. Since then, he has helped to recover millions of dollars for his clients in claims ranging from workers' compensation, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents and employment discrimination. Reed recently volunteered with the St. Clair County Public Defender's office, winning his very first criminal trial. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and in US District Court in the Southern District of Illinois.
Having appeared for plaintiffs in Illinois, Missouri and before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission, Reed prides himself on working for injured people who need help. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA). Reed serves with roughly 200 other attorneys on the Illinois State Bar Association's Assembly, the supreme policy making body of the ISBA.
Reed is an avid rugby player, having played since 2002 for several teams in the area. He also enjoys hiking, horseback riding and the occasional triathlon. If Reed is not in the office, he is likely pursuing one of these activities.
