Our Staff

Jennifer

Jennifer is a legal assistant at Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C. She began working for the firm as a legal assistant in February 2003.  Jennifer earned an Associate of Arts in 2000 and an Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Studies in 2009 from Southwestern Illinois College.   

 

 

Barb

Barb works for Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law P.C., as the bookkeeper.  She has been a staff member with the firm for 25 years.  She obtained a degree in legal secretarial and paralegal studies from Belleville Area College (currently Southwestern Illinois College).  Barb has served as a board member and officer for St. Clair County Legal Secretaries Association and St. Clair County Legal Professionals Association.  She has also served as a member of NALS (National Association for Legal Professionals) and the Southwestern Illinois College mentoring program.  Barb serves as an Illinois Notary Public.  Barb is married and has two children. 

Angel

Angel Herrmann graduated from the Paralegal Program at Southwestern Illinois College in 2008.  Ms. Herrmann has been working as a Legal Assistant at Nelson & Nelson Attorneys at Law, P.C. since May 2008.  She lives in Belleville, Illinois.

 

 

Cathie

Cathie studied at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL.  She began working as a legal assistant for Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law in August, 2007.

 

 

 

Lynn

Lynn started working at the firm in January of 1991.  During the past 20 years she has held several different positions with the firm.  She began as the firm’s first full-time receptionist and has served as a legal assistant for the past 17 years.  Lynn is currently the Office Manager, (a position she has held for the past 12 years), and legal assistant for Attorney Nathan Lanter.   

Lynn has 3 grown sons and, at last count, 5 grandchildren.  “Mom” and “Grammy” are her most treasured titles.

Reed

Reed works as a law clerk at Nelson & Nelson.  He is a law student at St. Louis University and is looking forward to graduation in 2013.

 

 

 

Kolby

Kolby has worked at Nelson & Nelson for 2 1/2 years as a legal assistant to Robert C. Nelson.  She is a 2008 graduate of Southwestern Illinois College with an A.A.S. Degree in Paralegal Studies.  Kolby enjoys Pilates, bowling, reading, scrapbooking, and trivia; she is also an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues.  She resides in Belleville, IL.

 

 

Liz

Liz works as a legal and research assistant at Nelson & Nelson.  She obtained her degree in Criminal Justice from St. Louis University and will soon pursue her law degree.  Liz lives in Freeburg with her husband and son.  She enjoys quiet nights and rockin’ weekends.

 

 

Amy

Amy is a legal assistant with the firm of Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C. She works directly with Attorney David C. Nelson and has been with our firm since 1993.  She is a Belleville resident and has two children.

 

 

 

Jamie

Jamie is a legal assistant with the firm of Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C. and joined our firm in the fall of 2010.  She holds an important position with our firm by working directly with the clients on a daily basis.  She is a Belleville resident and is expecting her first child.

She enjoys rock climbing at our local YMCA, softball, sand volleyball, church volleyball, and she volunteers once a month in the nursery at Faith Family Church.

  

Wendy

Wendy has worked as a legal assistant to Bob Nelson since joining Nelson & Nelson in 2009. Wendy has 20+ years experience as a litigation legal assistant in the workers’ compensation, personal injury, products’ liability and medical malpractice industries. Wendy is a strong advocate for the rights of the injured workers and accident victims.  She lives in St. Louis with her husband, Pedro. They have six children and five grandchildren.

 

 

Cheryl

Cheryl is employed as a receptionist at Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C.  She began working at the firm 8 years ago after retiring from a previous career.  Cheryl earned a Bachelors Degree from Florida State University, a Masters Degree in Counseling and one in Administration and Supervision from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  She has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
