Robert C. Nelson

Robert C. Nelson is a 1970 graduate of the University of Illinois and a 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. Mr. Nelson limits his practice to representing injured persons. Since 1973, he has practiced in Belleville, Illinois, concentrating his practice in personal injury and workers’ compensation claims.

Mr. Nelson has helped thousands of clients during his 44 years of practice. Results include a million-dollar Jones Act settlement, multi-million-dollar jury verdict for a slip and fall case in St. Clair County, and tens of millions of dollars in workers’ compensation awards.

Mr. Nelson maintains a commitment to teaching and lecturing other attorneys to practice workers’ compensation.  Twice each year he speaks at seminars in either Fairview Heights or Chicago discussing articles he has published.  The topics include:  when benefits must be paid, recent case decisions, retaliatory discharge, mental and emotional injuries, general trial preparation, and a variety of topics relevant to those who practice workers’ compensation.  In addition, Mr. Nelson continues to publish articles for The Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s Workers’ Compensation Handbook including “Computation of Average Weekly Wage,” which he has done for decades.
