Police Officer Recovers Six-Figure Policy Limit for Car Crash while on Duty

An on-duty police officer was rear-ended in a Madison County, Illinois, construction site. The crash did not appear severe, but the officer, Dane’s client, had severe symptoms that continued for years. He was treated for over a year after the crash for painful, constant headaches. The insurance company offered the officer less than $5,000.00 to settle the claim. As the trial date grew closer, Dane kept the pressure on the insurance company through motions and deposition requests. Finally, with the trial nearing and the inevitable becoming more apparent, the insurance company offered the six-figure policy limit to the officer.
